The paradox of our time

The paradox of our time is history is that we have taller buildings
but shorter tempers; wider freeways
but narrower viewpoints; we spend more,
we have less; we buy more, but enjoy it less

We have bigger houses and smaller families;
More conveniences, but less time;
We have more degrees, but less sense;
More knowledge, but less judgement;
More experts, but more problems;
More medicine, but less wellness

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly
Laugh too little, drive too fast, fet too angry too quickly,
Stay up too late, get up too tired , read too little,
watch TV too much, and pray too seldom


We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values.
We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.
We've learn how to make a living, but not a life;
We've added years to life but not life to years;
We've been all the way to the moon and back,
but we have trouble crossing the street to meet the new neighbour

We've conquered outer space, but not inner space;
We've done larger things, but not better things;
We've cleaned the air, but polluted the soul.
We've split the atom, but not out prejudice.
We write more, but we learn less;
We plan more, but accomplish less

We've learnt to rush, but not to wait;
We've have higher incomes but lower morals.
We've more food, but less appeasement;
We build more computers to hold more information.
to produce more copies than ever, but have less communication.
We've become long on quantity but short on quality.

These are time of fast food and slow digestion;
tall man, and short character; steep profits; and shallow relationship

These are times of more incomes, but less nutrition.

These are the days of two incomes, but more of divorce; of fancier
houses, but more broken homes.


These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers,
throw-away morality, one-night stands, and overweight bodies.

We take pills to sleep, to shit, to cheer up, to have sex, at our
own convenience.

It is a time when there much in the show window
and nothing in the storeroom


A time when technology can bring this letter to you,
and a time you can choose either to share this insight, or to
just hit delete

this was shared by Mdm Tan ... i really love her lessons. it's interesting and i get to learn more;general knowledge and to increase my vocabulary. =D... really think that this is meaningful. i wonder when will people actually feel happy.

SS textbook was confiscated by NG ... need to read for 3 days for 1 hours each... actually i love reading depending on the type of story i'm currently reading. =D so i don't really care. more time to read and less time to slack =D

got highest in class for CHEMISTRY and PHYSICS .. woohoo~ 3 cheers ... finally beat Mahavira and Jesper. i bet Jesper is really angry hahas . got to work worker to keep up. =D 21 for chem and 22 for physics ... both over 25... and Amelia said I'm going to score 23 for my maths paper. =P i'm so going to beat you .. i think ... LOL ... lots of tests recently and this isn't even the preliminaries... Chinese O lvls results are coming soon and i hope that i get an A1... because i don't want to stay in Chinese class anymore... torturing... LOL. EL oral is coming soon and i hope that it's going to be easy and not any thing about the Olympics...
